Here’s a quickfire list of top PvP tips for Elder Scrolls Online that’ll make a real difference in your performance—whether you're solo, in small groups, or zerging through Cyrodiil:
Combat Mechanics & Awareness
1. Learn to Light Attack Weave – It’s the foundation of high DPS and resource return with certain sets or passives.
2. Roll Dodge Wisely – Don’t spam it. Dodge critical abilities (like Dawnbreaker, Whip, Executioner).
3. Block Smart – Block burst damage or crowd control. Heavy attacks and ultimates can often be blocked to reduce their sting.
4. Movement is Life – Strafing, line-of-sight (LoS) around terrain, and staying unpredictable make you harder to hit or gank.
5. Burst Windows – Time your burst combo with procs, buffs, and debuffs. Use status effects and set procs (like Plaguebreak or Deadly) when your enemy’s resistance is down.
Build Strategy
6. Resistance Goals – Aim for 28–33k physical/spell resist (hardened) after Battle Spirit. Use sets like Fortified Brass or Markyn Ring of Majesty for balance.
7. Sustain Matters – Use sets like Wretched Vitality or Armor of the Trainee to keep your resources flowing.
8. Mundus Stone Synergy – Try The Warrior for more weapon damage, The Atronach for regen, or The Steed for kiting builds.
9. Don’t Overcap – Keep crit resist above 2k for survivability but don’t stack it at the cost of pressure or sustain.
Situational Awareness
10. Watch Buffs & Debuffs –we don't use addons like “BuffTracker” or “Srendarr” to know when to go in or disengage on console, but that maybe bout to change until then make sure you have track buffs and debuffs switched on .
11. Know When to Retreat – One good retreat is better than ten respawns. Run, LoS, use terrain, and kite until cooldowns are up.
12. Avoid Overextending – Especially in Cyrodiil or Battlegrounds. Don't chase kills into towers or over bridges solo.
13. Scan the Field – Always be aware of siege, bombers, or stealth zergs. Zoom out your camera and use audio cues.
Group Play Tips
14. Stick Together – 1vX is cool, but 2vX or 4vX is way more consistent and fun when you coordinate bursts.
15. Cross Heal & Support – Magplars, Necros, or Wardens with a good heal bar can turn the tide. Use synergy skills and cleanse when needed.
16. Focus Fire – If you’re in voice or coordinated, focus down one target to eliminate pressure quickly.
Mind Games & Mentality
17. Don’t Panic Under Pressure – Expect to be bursted. Stay calm and counter with healing, movement, or defensive ults.
18. Duel Often – Dueling teaches timing, reaction, and how other classes function. Great for learning counters.
19. Use Potions – Tri-stat, immovability, or weapon/spell power pots—whatever fits your build. Always be prepped.
20. Expect Cheese – You’ll face bombers, proc-heavy builds, and gankers. Accept it, adapt, and hit harder.
